stay tuned...

Linda went to auction today and is very excited about unloading the truck tomorrow morning. I just got off the phone with her and mentioned a few things onboard -- huge mirror, big iron gate, vanity, tables...

I will try to post some pictures tomorrow so you can see all of the new things as they are coming off the truck.

If you have time, drop by and see us!

button, button -- new button dresser...

Just look at this new dresser that came in yesterday -- isn't it fabulous! I have always been fascinated with buttons and have collected them for quite some time, but I have never seen anything like this.

You will have to come in and visit us so you can take a peek!

the "chicklet"...

The "chicklet" came to spend some time with me yesterday so her Mom could go in to the shop and do some work. Well, while I was working here on my computer she sat on the other side of my desk working on a scrapbook -- this was after she ate lunch, had dessert, watched a movie, played with the pets...

I wish I had some of that energy!

happy birthday...to aunt judy

On Saturday evening we celebrated my Aunt Judy's birthday. There was food, family, birthday cake and drinks -- the best drinks -- frozen margaritas! My Aunt Nancy makes the best frozen margaritas you have ever had, sure wish you were here (I mean there!).

Happy Birthday Aunt Judy!

snowed in -- again...

Can you believe it...yesterday, it snowed again! Here is a picture of the freshly fallen snow and my dog really enjoying it!

"free snow -- shovel all you want!"

Although this was a nice snow -- no ice. Linda went in to open the shop and cleaned off the front steps and the back steps, but it just kept on snowing and snowing...you get the picture. She ended up closing early so she could have a safe drive home.

fresh off the truck...

I just had to show you some of the new things that came off the truck yesterday -- we haven't even priced them yet!

how much is that doggie in the window...

Okay -- as you can see from my previous posts I stopped by the shop yesterday to see all of the new things. Well, I just couldn't leave without this cute doggie!

He makes the best pet -- you don't have to walk him, feed him or clean up after him! You can just enjoy his company! There are a couple left in case you stop by!!

These little dogs just came in too.

very exciting...

There are so many new things that I just can't share them all. You just have to come by and see us!

I did manage to get a picture of a few things...like this great dog (which doubles as a leash holder)!

late night decorating...

While I have been busy here at home working on our new online store (http://www.fourshabbychicks.net), and updating this blog, my mom and sister have been busy at the shop -- opening boxes, unloading trucks, moving furniture, setting up a whole new room for you to shop!

On Wednesday night they stayed late at the shop fixing up this room, getting so tired and laughing so hard they may almost drop a large piece of furniture. Well as you can see it was worth the hard work -- the room looks "chick-tastic."

Of course after all of that hard work they had to get something to eat! They headed over to La Villa Roma and had the usual, which is wings and pizza!

Great job girls!

mom's taxi service...

Ever have one of those days! Well, I had one of those days yesterday.

It started with projects due at school, which in English means "I can't ride the bus." Get in the door just in time to answer the phone and my daughter forgets something "I need it now." Then its off to practice, to practice, to pick-up, to pick-up...

snow day...

With all of our activity at the shop I forgot to mention that my son, Kyle, was on the front page of our local newspaper "Leesburg Today" -- my own little celebrity.

The picture was taken last Tuesday when the kids got out of school early -- he went outside to play with our dog "Jake" and as the caption reads "I'm not sure who was having more fun!" It might have been me, for I was nice and warm watching all of this from my front window!

breakfast anyone?

Linda and Carter stopped by Tuesday morning for a visit.

Carter sure does love his dinosaurs -- in fact, he was feeding this dinosaur a marshmallow for breakfast!! He is just too cute!

Oh, and that top picture of him -- totally reminds me of Linda!

spring has sprung!!!

look at these giant eggs!

Well, we are finally starting to thaw out -- I think we actually got into the 50's today!!
I must say, spring has sprung at the chick shop!! The shop was closed today, but I had to stop by this morning to pick up a few things so I snapped a few shots of some of the new spring stuff to share with you. Of course if you want to see it all you have to come see us!

my valentine...

I just love this picture...it so reminds me of my Nana.
My Nana was very special and I just loved spending time with her. Everytime I look at this picture it reminds me of all the times we shared together -- lots of summer vacations! She received these valentines when she was a young lady and she later had them put into this frame, in the bottom right corner of these valentines is a note that reads: "Valentines sent to Margaret Carter (Mason) in the late 1920's and early 1930's"

Whenever I would visit I would always be looking for this picture! I found it fascinating. Now this wonderful treasure hangs in my house and I thought I would share it with all of you -- I hope you enjoy!

babysitting...

Well our mom had to go out of town, so I made a deal with Linda that if she went in to the shop on Friday I would watch her kids -- all three!! That way I could be home with my kids too! I'm not sure who made out better on this deal, just kidding Lin!

I just love spending time with my niece and newphews. Here are a few pictures so you can see just how cute they are!

Carter just loved having his picture taken -- he was saying "cheese" all day!

Abby!

Quinn almost made it...

snowed in...

I'm not sure about you, but we have been snowed in...

The kids have been out of school since Tuesday afternoon! They certainly are enjoying their time off. I know there will be some happy mom's come next Tuesday when they head back, I know because I will be one of them! Just kidding of course!

All joking aside -- it has given me lots of time to work on our new website and online store I have added lots of new items today. I can't wait for you to take a look.

motion sickness?

This is my first time writing on our blog. To be honest I didn't even know what a blog was 'til a couple of months ago.

I'm Linda by the way. My mother & I just got back from the Atlanta show a couple of weeks ago & have been opening boxes ever since. We got some great stuff!!!!!!!!! Wait till you see the cute spring stuff. We have already sold out of some things but not to worry we have already reordered.

Back to the Atlanta trip -- I was sick as a dog! I thought I had motion sickness, for four days! I could have stayed in the room the whole time. Being the good sport that I am we shopped till we dropped. My husband Marty stayed home with our 3 kids with the help of our sitter. To my suprise little did we know #4 is on the way! WOW! I might not be going to the show next year.

Well this has been fun, but the 3 wee little ones are calling!

Till next time.
Linda

meet "flo"

The next time you stop in don't forget to introduce yourself to our new partner -- "Flo." She is our new, old very silent partner. You can usually find her sitting around the front room or sometimes hanging around out front of the store (she is not much of a hard worker, but don't tell her I said so). She is not too shy either and loves to have her picture taken -- just ask my cousin Christy who happened to stop by to say "hi"

Christy and Flo became fast friends.

"chicklet" -- the littlest chick

"chicklet" (chik-let) noun A very young chick, especially a very young chick. A young, very cute person who will someday become a "chick" See Abigail Conry

I think I will submit this definition to Webster's. Abby, my niece, truly is a "chicklet."

Abby works with her mom almost every Sunday at the "chick" shop, she has grown-up here with us. Well, this past Sunday she stopped by my house with her mom on the way to the shop and she looked so cute with her new haircut and freshly pedicured toenails -- yes her daddy took her to get a pedicure!! Can you believe it! I didn't have my first pedicure until I was 29 (or there abouts). She was so excited that I just had to take a picture of her toes, so I thought I would share this picture with all of you.

She was also looking for Uncle Kevin, who usually gets up early in the morning to head over to Shopper's to pick-up a box of chocolate glazed donuts. She was a little disappointed to learn that he did get up early, but he had to go into the office and work. She had to settle for a few small powdered donuts fresh from the Hostess box. After finishing her morning snack she headed off to work.

So, on Sunday morning when you call the shop you may hear "four shabby chicks" or you may hear something that sounds more like "four flabby chicks" !!!

We love you Abby!

mirror, mirror on the wall ...

Look at these great mirrors Linda found last week -- not too shabby! There are so many you can't even see them all, guess you'll have to stop by to see the rest.

take a look at what's new!!

Here are a few pictures of what's new at the "chick" shop. We unloaded two trucks of great stuff from auction last week -- Linda sure had fun!

We are also getting in new things daily, some of them are for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and even Easter.

We can't wait for you to stop in and see us!
